Addition

When you are working an addition problem you are going to be adding (calculating) two or more numbers to find the sum.

Steps to follow when adding problems.

  1. When you are adding 2 or more numbers of any size, you will need to line-up the numbers by place value.
  2. Once your numbers are lined up, you will start adding the numbers in the ones column. Regrouping as needed.
  3. You will add the numbers in the tens column, don't forget to add any regrouped numbers.
  4. Continue adding the rest of the numbers adding in the regrouped numbers if you have any.

Communtative Property

The commutative property states that when the numbers (addends) used can be moved or swapped from their position without making any differences to the answer.
