Steps for rounding a number

1. Underline the place being rounded.
2. Look at the number "next door."
3. Do you raise or lower?
1. If the number is 4 or lower, keep the underlined number the same...
2. If the number is 5 or higher, raise the underlined number.
4. Change all the number in the place value position after the underlined digit to zero.
